Iran’s ‘Today Is Friday’ wins at Amerta filmfest

The AMERTA filmfest in Turkey awards Iran’s ‘Today is Friday’.

The AMERTA Film Festival in Turkey has awarded Iranian short flick ‘Today is Friday’.

Directed by Mohammad Ahangar, the 14-minute flick grabbed the Best Short Film award at the fourth edition of the Turkish event.

The film tells the story of Nader and Saeed who are two colleagues in a company.

While they are arguing with each other because of their problems in the company, suddenly something happens that causes some changes in their destinies.

It has Azadeh Seifi, Farid Qobadi, Kaveh Ahangar, and Pedram Jame-Bozorg on the cast list.

‘Today is Friday’ has already taken part in a number of global events, including the MIKROFAF Film Festival in Serbia, the Canberra Short Film Festival in Australia, and the Santa Fe Film Festival in the US.

The AMERTA Film Festival hosts short, documentary and feature films from around the world and provides an opportunity for filmmakers to showcase their works.

The 2021 edition of the event was held on September 20-24.
